A FESTIVAL OF LESSONS AND CAROLS

A Festival of Lessons and Carols presented by the FPCOS chancel choir and orchestra will be held on Sunday, December 4 at 5 PM. Based on the traditional service of lessons and carols held each year in King’s College, Cambridge, A Festival of Lessons and Carols by John Leavitt is a service of scripture and song retelling the story of Jesus’ birth.  Join in singing traditional Christmas carols and hear the story of our Savior’s birth. Tune in to our livestream for this special service starting at 4:50 PM.

THIS WEEK’S SERMON

The book of Hebrews is understood best as a sermon manuscript. It was a sermon delivered to Hebraic people who were struggling to remain faithful as Christians. Life would have been much easier for them if they just downplayed Jesus. The preacher of Hebrews wrote this sermon to encourage his listeners to stay faithful to the Lord. He would preach that Jesus is greater than the angels, and greater than Moses, and greater than Joshua, and greater than the whole Priesthood of Israel. Our Advent sermon series entitled The Greater Gift will consider the theme of the supremacy of Jesus over all else.

A PLACE FOR EVERYONE

FPCOSKIDS

In our children’s ministry at FPCOS, we have plenty of opportunities for kids from birth through 6th grade to learn about Jesus. From our Sunday Faith Foundations classes to our Wednesday night programs, as well as special activities throughout the year such as VBS and our fall festival, we strive to make Jesus a priority in the lives of our little ones!

FPCOSYOUTH

For youth in grades 7-12, our youth ministry provides opportunities to learn, pray and fellowship with one another through youth group, small groups and Faith Foundations. Throughout the year, we have a number of activities designed for students to grow closer in their relationship with Jesus, including RYM conferences in Colorado and Florida.

FPCOSADULTS

If you’re looking to connect with other adults and continue growing in your relationship with Jesus, we have Bible studies and Faith Foundations classes for everyone, as well as specific activities for both men and women. Our Legacy ministry caters to our 65+ church family and has learning luncheons and trips throughout the year.
