WORSHIP
MUSIC, MEDIA + SERVICE“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises!” – Psalm 98:4
FIRST PRES ORCHESTRA (FPO)
The First Pres Orchestra (FPO) is made up of volunteer musicians who love God and have a passion for serving God with their instruments. If you have at least two years of history playing an instrument and are of high school age and above, we would love to have you join us. Even if you have not played in a while, we invite you to come and work the cobwebs off your instrument while we serve and fellowship together each week!
FPO provides inspirational and congregational music for Sunday morning worship. They are featured in worship on the third Sunday of the month and special events throughout the year. The FPO is made up of instrumentalists committed to being part of a weekly rehearsal and worship experiences on a regular basis. We rehearse weekly on Wednesdays at 5:15-6:00 PM in the sanctuary.
Please contact Steve Wood below if you are interested in learning how to be a part of FPO.
WORSHIP BAND (8:30 SERVICE)
*Rehearsals – Thursdays at 5:30 PM and Sundays at 7:30 AM
The Worship Band leads praise and worship through music at the 8:30 AM acoustic service at FPCOS. Worship is our focus! Worship Band members have a heart for worship while using the musical gifts God gave us to His glory. The selected songs must be rich in content to complement the sermon and scripture. Though the quality of musical excellence is important, leading our congregation into authentic and undistracting worship is our aim. Spiritual maturity and musical skill are both necessary in this leadership-type ministry. Being able to flow with the team is essential as we follow the spirit of God throughout the service. Worship Band members rehearse Thursdays at 5:30 PM and again on Sunday at 7:30 AM. We praise and worship together every time we meet. We pray together, sing together and praise together. It is a great opportunity to use your gifts and mature your faith.
For more information on being a musician or vocalist in the Worship Band, contact Clay Barton below.
CHANCEL CHOIR (11:00 SERVICE)
*Rehearsals – Wednesdays at 6-7 PM
The Chancel Choir provides choral music for the 11 AM traditional worship service. The choir sings every Sunday (with the exception of the third Sunday of the month) and for special services. Anyone from high school age and above is welcome. Previous choral experience is helpful, but not necessary. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays at 6-7 PM in the choir room.
The Chancel Choir sings, prays and enjoys fellowship with one another. If you are interested in singing in the choir, please contact Elise Everett.
MEDIA TEAM
The Media Team at FPCOS helps to share the good news of the Gospel through audio/video technology in worship and equips other ministries to use technology as effective worship and outreach tools.
Our media team handles the audio/visual needs at our worship services and special events. Our audio technician operates our sound board during worship, and media team members will run the worship slides through ProPresenter and operate our cameras and livestream. We strive to enhance worship through technology, not distract from it – we want His Word and our praise to Him to be seen and heard clearly!
Media Team volunteers may serve as a ProPresenter operator, camera/livestream operator or backup audio technician and will be trained on every area. Volunteers generally serve 1-2 times per month and special events, as needed. Volunteers must be of high school age or above and possess intermediate to advanced computer skills, solid concentration skills and a heart for worship. Prior video and audio production experience and musical ability is a plus!
Contact Stacy Ramsey below for more information about joining the Media Team.
SUNDAY MORNING TEAM
Do you have the gift of hospitality? We are looking for greeters on Sunday mornings at FPCOS. You will be greeting people as they arrive for worship, passing out bulletins and collecting the offering. You will need to arrive 30 minutes before the service you sign up for. This is a wonderful opportunity for families to serve together, but also a great way for singles and couples to plug in and serve as well.
Are you a morning person? We also need people to join our Coffee Crew! We are looking for volunteers to serve in rotation to make coffee on Sunday mornings. Volunteers will make coffee from 7:45-8:15 AM and then tend to and wash out the coffee pots from 10:15-10:45 AM. This is a great way to serve with a friend or make new friends as you serve your FPCOS family!
