FAITH FOUNDATIONS

FOR KIDS, YOUTH AND ADULTS

WHAT IS FAITH FOUNDATIONS?

Faith Foundations is our version of Sunday School. Acts 2:42 says, “And they devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.”  This passage is our focus for the Faith Foundations time from 10:00-10:45 AM every Sunday morning.  We offer classes for children, youth and adults that meet people where they are in life in order to equip them to know Jesus through scripture and to take that knowledge and apply it to our lives.

FAITH FOUNDATIONS FOR KIDS

3s-K – Room 103
1st – 3rd grade – Room 305
4th-6th grade – Room 302

Join us for a Children’s Ministry REVAMP in our Faith Foundations classes! This year, all children will be welcome to come to class and start each Sunday with fellowship and fun. Third-floor classes (1st-6th graders) are welcome to come up to their room at 9:50 AM for games, snacks and time with friends. Additionally, we will begin a new curriculum called GROW. Read more about the scope and sequence here. Preschoolers will have a similar flow to last year with additional fun elements that are sure to spark excitement for learning the Good News of Jesus!

FAITH FOUNDATIONS FOR YOUTH

Groups will meet in the Harbor House on campus or the Jackson Ave Office across from the gravel lot on the corner of Jackson and Ocean Avenues. If this is your first time attending Faith Foundations and you are in grades 7-12, please come to the Harbor House.

Breakdown Each Week:
10:00-10:10 – Big Group announcements
10:10-10:20 – Catch up with Small Group
10:20-10:45 – Study and apply Scripture

Youth Faith Foundations is taking a relational approach this year! Rather than providing traditional teaching, there will be small groups (4-8 students grades 7-12) that will be led by an adult and a ministry team student. Each week, the groups will gather throughout the Harbor House and the Jackson Ave Office from 10:00-10:45 AM to study and apply the scripture passage that is covered in that week’s sermon. The goal is two-fold: to grow deeper in our relationships with one another AND to have a deeper and fuller understanding of the gospel of God’s grace and His call on our lives as we reflect on the Scriptures. On the first Sunday of each month (communion Sundays), we will have a special meal with the entire group and have either extra fellowship or one-off teaching.

FAITH FOUNDATIONS FOR ADULTS

THEY WALKED WITH GOD

Room 202 – Taught by Clay Brown

Scoundrels…Prostitutes…Thieves…Deceivers…Manipulators…Liars…Kidnappers…Murderers…Outlaws…

What kind of people are these? The king of people who “Walked with God”! The ancestors of Jesus. Story after story marked by scandal, stumble and stupidity. Who are these people? They are me! They are you! They are us! We find our stories in theirs. We find hope where they found theirs. In the midst of them all…hovering over them all…is the hero of it all: God!

THE WISDOM OF PROVERBS

Room 201 – Taught by Kyle Palmer

To accept the invitation the book of Proverbs gives God’s people to pursue the path of godly wisdom. This leads us to Jesus Christ, while paying attention to the Old Testament voices, which together with the revelation in the New Testament, will help participants of this class comprehend the excellence of wisdom.

1-2 SAMUEL: THY KINGDOM COME

The Chapel – Taught by Pastor Kory Duncan

Join us for a verse-by-verse journey through the books of 1 and 2 Samuel.

PRAYER TIME

Room 301 – Led by Gregg Bray

Come join us weekly for a time of prayer, where we will lift up our personal prayers, as well as prayers for our church, community and the world. No need to sign up – just meet us in room 301!

COFFEE + CONVO

The Commons

Meet up with our church family for coffee and conversation in The Commons as we get to know each other better! We will have The Commons open during the Faith Foundations hour.
